Harbour: a picturesque, pine-fringed,
sheltered inlet with just a couple of restaurants, famous
for its glorious sunsets.
Lönguz:
a secluded creek where hidden in the woods is Alis
bbq. This tends to be a particular favourite amongst guests
for the rustic atmosphere, great food, and possibly even
a sing song around the fire after dinner!
A
nearby alternative is Akbük,
a dramatic setting with a gently sweeping shingle
beach where steep mountains plunge vertically into the
sea a picture of rural Turkey, with goats on the beach!
The recommended lunch stop for the day is Castle
Island where you can visit Cleopatra's
Beach or wander amongst the shady olive
groves to discover the ruined amphitheatre then snorkel
in the clear waters amongst the ancient amphorae.
Çökertme:
the final evenings stop prior to returning to Bodrum,
is a small village in a beautiful setting surrounded by
mountains. . There is a choice of restaurants, one of
which is home to the rogueish Captain Ibrahim, famous
for his traditional Turkish hospitality and (unique!)
entertainment.
HISARONU
Korfezi Route (approx 140nm)
Bodrum:
a lively resort town with many bars and restaurants,
and an excellent modern marina from where all of our Monday
flotillas start and end.
Ova
Bükü is
a small hamlet with a couple of restaurants and a wooden
T-jetty tucked right into the sheltered corner of Kalaboshi
Bay. Pre-dinner drinks are held at the bar at Ogűn's
Place so that guests on different boats may meet before
their meal.
Dirsek
is a stunning bay with crystal clear water only reachable
by boat with no facilities other than the single restaurant,
famous for its jumbo prawns fried with garlic and other
delicious sea food! Perfect for swimming in the
phosphorescence or watching the stars at night after dinner
once the generator is turned off.
Orhaniye:
a spectacular setting nestled amongst the mountains. Nearby
lunchtime stops include Bencik, a stunning creek with
turquoise waters perfect for cooling off after a bite
to eat.
Datça:
the biggest place visited besides Bodrum with a large
selection of restaurants, bars and some lively discos.
Trips can be arranged to the fascinating Old Datça village
and local olive farm. There is also the chance to visit
the Hamam, enjoy the full works at the Barbers, and stock
up on provisions at the colourful market.
Palamut:
an enchanting fishing village with a well protected
man-made harbour and a long shingle beach where youll
be treated to the best grilled fish to be found anywhere,
and if youre lucky top class belly dancing! A minibus
trip can be arranged to Kinidos, the ancient ruined city.
